SBI PO 2019 Prelims Easier Than 2018: An Examinee's Perspective
There's a common belief that the SBI PO 2019 Prelims were more challenging than the 2018 exam. However, based on my personal experience, I can confidently say that the 2019 Prelims were easier. In this article, I will share my insights and experiences with the exam to help other aspirants understand the difference.
My Personal Experience: Second Attempt for SBI PO 2019
For my second attempt at the SBI PO 2019, I was prepared and knew the exam pattern. However, I was not familiar with the exact syllabus until I filled in the application form. The English section was my forte, which is why I'm confident in sharing my experience and predictions.
Reading the Previous Year's Exams
Looking at the SBI 2018 exam, there were some differences, but the structure of the exam remained similar. I was familiar with the English section, which allowed me to attempt 29 questions, scoring well in reading comprehension, error correction, cloze test, and para jumbles.
Aptitude and Reasoning
In the aptitude section, I attempted 9 questions, mainly focusing on quadratic equations and simplifications. Reasoning was a new area for me, and I didn't attempt many questions. To prepare, I started taking mock tests and focused on improving my performance, taking 25 mocks in total.
Fatigue and Preparation for 2019
On the day of the SBI PO 2019 exam, the weather was hot, and the distance to the exam center was 20 km from my flat. Waking up at 8 am was challenging, but I was anxious to perform well and avoid the disappointment of the previous year. I aimed to attempt at least 65 questions.
Here is a breakdown of my results:
English: 26 (skeptical accuracy) Aptitude: 23 (skeptical accuracy) Reasoning: 24 (skeptical accuracy)Comparison with SBI PO 2018
Based on my experiences, the 2019 SBI PO Prelims were more manageable. I found it a little tougher than the FCI exam, which I attempted 76 times. The English section was a breeze, and with some strategic planning, I could easily achieve 60-plus attempts.
