Never Let Down: Overcoming Obstacles to Achieve Success

The Power of Perseverance: Never Let Down

Success is often achieved not despite obstacles, but because of them. In this narrative, I will share my journey and demonstrate why perseverance has never let me down. My approach towards challenges, particularly the quote 'it can’t be done, I've tried it and I failed, so don’t waste your time on it,' has been instrumental in my growth.

From Doubt to Determination

Back in 2017, I was 17 years old and found myself incredibly fascinated by the financial market. At that age, I lacked both experience and knowledge, but my belief in my own capability was my driving force. I spent an entire year reading about traders and investors like Warren Buffet, steadily building my understanding of the market. My parents, despite my enthusiasm, were skeptical. They strongly advised against it, saying, 'People lose money in the market all the time and go bankrupt. Drop your idea and focus on your studies.' However, these words only motivated me to pursue my passion further.

Tracing My Journey Through Challenges

With 60,000 local currency, I begin to trade, knowing that this could be a learning curve. The first month ended in a loss of 30,000 local currency. My parents were firm in their advice that I should quit, but I was undeterred. I continued to research, study, and invest more than I had before, with a constant stream of inquiries fueling my learning journey. Questions like 'Why do people fail and why do people succeed?' drove my relentless pursuit. After another failure, this time losing about 8,000 local currency, I took a different path. I began to analyze my mistakes and make improvements. Today, I continue to learn and grow, and this journey until today has been invaluable.

Lessons from Personal Experience

This journey has taught me the importance of perseverance and continuous effort. I have found that listening to others' doubts often leads to missed opportunities. While my parents and relatives continue to mock my choices, I choose to ignore these taunts. Today, they support me because I was able to have a meaningful conversation with them and demonstrate the value of my efforts. This formula of perseverance and continuous effort is my guiding principle.

I have been in Malawi for three years and faced the challenges of unemployment due to the pandemic. This period saw a significant disruption in my financial flows, but I survived by consistently working on improving my skills and exploring new opportunities. While I have not yet achieved my goals, I remain committed to my path. Success is within reach, and I will continue to work hard to achieve it.

Perseverance is not only about overcoming obstacles but also about the mindset we adopt when faced with them. I will always choose to remain determined and not let down my beliefs in myself and my ability to achieve.
